Where can you make a trustworthy donation for Gaza or Palestine?
With the humanitarian emergency in Gaza, many people want to do something practical but wonder where to make a trustworthy donation for Gaza. Between the many charities working for Gaza, online platforms and crowdfunding appeals, it isn't always easy to find your way 🙈!
We've put together this short guide to help you spot the safest and most effective options, so that your gift really reaches the ground and pays for real, practical help 👍.
Whether you want to make a secure donation for Gaza or support a trustworthy humanitarian mission in Gaza, discover the key criteria for choosing a reliable NGO for Gaza like LIFE ☺️.
At a glance
- Three ways to give: recognised NGOs working on the ground (like LIFE), secure online donation platforms, or crowdfunding appeals
- Choose organisations with a presence on the ground: LIFE works directly in Gaza, with more than 900,000 meals distributed 🍽️, 20,000 loaves of bread a day 🥖 and more than 2,000,000 litres of water supplied 💧
- 66% tax deduction: every humanitarian gift for Gaza made through a recognised charity for Gaza lets you reduce your tax (every little helps) 👌
Three ways to give with confidence: NGOs, platforms and crowdfunding
Charities and NGOs on the ground
The first way to support Gaza through an NGO is to give directly to a recognised charity for Gaza that is present on the ground. These organisations usually have a local team and proven humanitarian expertise. They offer full traceability of funds and ensure that your online donation for families in Gaza pays for practical, measurable action. Reliable NGOs for Gaza such as LIFE often hold official status that allows them to issue tax receipts 🧾.
According to the Comité de la Charte du don en confiance, these organisations follow strict rules on financial transparency and governance. LIFE has been working in Gaza since 2023 with clearly defined programmes: hot meal distributions, bread baking, drinking water supplies and psychosocial workshops that bring a little joy and comfort to children 🧡.
Secure online donation platforms
Donation platforms are a convenient alternative for helping Gaza online. These sites bring several charities together and make it easy to compare the projects they fund. Some platforms take a commission on each transaction, while others charge no fees to maximise the impact of your gift.
Well-known platforms such as HelloAsso or Leetchi offer secure payments and verify the identity of campaign organisers ✅.
👉 We recommend checking that the charity for Gaza listed on these platforms really is present on the ground 🤔.
💡 The advantage of giving directly through the website of an NGO like LIFE is the assurance that you're working with a charity that is on the ground and transparent about how your donations are used.
Crowdfunding and fundraising pages
Fundraisers for Gaza set up by individuals are increasingly popular on social media. These appeals can rally communities quickly while building real momentum of solidarity 🫶.
⚠️ But be careful: there's no guarantee the organiser will actually use the money for the stated purpose! Remember to check who the organiser is, the exact aim of the fundraiser and who will ultimately benefit.
According to France Bénévolat, transparency is the number one factor in trusting this kind of initiative.
To give to a solidarity project for Gaza through a fundraising page, consider LIFE fundraisers for Gaza. You create your page, share it with the people around you and we take care of the rest 👍 An effective way to raise funds for Gaza while making sure they genuinely help people on the ground.
| Type of platform | Advantages | Points to watch | Tax receipt |

Why choose an NGO on the ground like LIFE
Traceability and measurable impact
Choosing a reliable NGO for Gaza that is present on the ground ensures that every euro you give pays for practical, verifiable action ✅.
LIFE works in Gaza in close collaboration with trusted local partners based there. Imad Bentayeb coordinates field operations in direct contact with these partners, which allows LIFE to adapt its work to local realities and deliver effective aid despite the difficult situation. This local cooperation is at the heart of our strategy for meeting the urgent needs of people in Gaza. Imad's interview on Radio Orient shows the teams' daily commitment in the face of the humanitarian emergency.
Traceability is an essential criterion when you want to make a secure donation for Gaza. LIFE regularly publishes progress reports with figures on its website, shared through newsletters and on our social media. LifeChangers receive photos and first-hand accounts, and can access LIFE's financial reports on our website. This transparency has been praised by several national media outlets, including Ouest-France and RFI, which have highlighted LIFE's work in Gaza.
Legal security and official recognition
LIFE is a charity officially recognised as being of public benefit (reconnue d'utilité publique), which means its accounts are regularly audited by independent auditors and it follows rigorous governance. Thanks to this status, donations you entrust to LIFE entitle you to 66% French tax relief.
To help you work out exactly how much tax you'll save, we provide a tax relief calculator. Tax receipts are issued once a year, at the end of the year, summarising all your gifts.
Humanitarian expertise and local coordination
Having local teams makes all the difference to the effectiveness of a trustworthy humanitarian mission for Gaza. LIFE doesn't just send money: we work hand in hand with our trusted partner Al Amal in Gaza.
According to OCHA, organisations with a long-standing presence on the ground develop a detailed understanding of local contexts that maximises the impact of every action. Helping children in Gaza in particular calls for a sensitive, professional approach that only experienced NGOs like LIFE can guarantee.
Crowdfunding: good practice and setting up a fundraiser with LIFE
Checking the transparency of an existing fundraiser
Before giving to a fundraiser for Gaza, ask yourself the right questions 👇
- Has the organiser clearly identified who will ultimately benefit?
- Are the financial targets specific and justified?
- Is there a plan for how the funds will be distributed? The most reliable fundraisers post regular updates with proof of payment.
Check the platform being used, too. Well-known sites such as HelloAsso or Leetchi verify organisers' identities and freeze funds in the event of a dispute. LIFE is also on Leetchi.org, by the way 😉
If a fundraiser seems unclear or too vague about its aims, opt instead for an online donation for families in Gaza made directly through a recognised NGO.
Setting up your own fundraiser in partnership with LIFE

Tips for a successful fundraiser
A successful crowdfunded humanitarian gift for Gaza rests on a few simple principles.
1️⃣ Set a specific, justified financial target, explaining in practical terms what it will pay for.
2️⃣ Explain why this cause matters to you. The fundraisers that inspire the most people are those driven by a personal story or genuine commitment 🫶.
3️⃣ Share your fundraiser on social media to build real momentum! Spread the word widely to reach as many hearts as possible, ready to act together.
4️⃣ Finally, don't forget to thank your donors warmly and share with them the real impact their generosity has made possible!
One-off or monthly gift: which option has the most impact?
The power of regular giving for Gaza
Monthly solidarity funding for Gaza offers strategic advantages for humanitarian organisations. It allows them to plan their work for the long term, maintain a continuous presence on the ground and adapt their action as needs change.
For LifeChangers, this option makes budgeting easier by spreading their gift over several months, making their support more affordable and regular.
A regular gift of €30 a month allows LIFE to keep up daily hot meal distributions in northern Gaza 🍽️, supply people with drinking water 💧, bake more than 20,000 loaves a day in our bakery 🥖 (the largest humanitarian bakery in Gaza) and keep running psychosocial workshops for children 🧡.
One-off gifts to respond to emergencies
No gesture is too small: a one-off gift matters a great deal too 🫶.
With 66% tax relief, a €150 gift really costs you just €51. You can work out your exact tax saving with the LIFE calculator.
Combining both approaches
To maximise your impact, you can combine a regular gift with one-off donations. A modest monthly commitment (€10 or €20) provides a stable funding base, while one-off gifts at the end of the month or at particular moments make an excellent complement. This combined approach benefits charities for Gaza such as LIFE, because it lets us plan our work while staying responsive 👌
