Ouest-France reports on LIFE's continuing work in Gaza

On 15 May 2025, the newspaper Ouest-France published a moving account from Mohammed Khalil, a humanitarian project manager in the Gaza Strip who coordinates hot meal distributions with LIFE. Amid a drawn-out war, looming famine and total instability, LIFE's field teams are still at work, helping those who need it most.
A catastrophic humanitarian situation
For more than a year and a half, life in the Gaza Strip has been shaped by bombing, widespread destruction and shortages of everything. More than 470,000 people are currently living in camps for displaced people in Rafah, in the south of the territory. Reports from the United Nations and NGOs agree: famine is imminent.
Mohammed Khalil speaks of a “constant fear”: “His home is in ruins, and his family lives crammed into a school turned into a shelter. The slightest noise is frightening, and every night is an ordeal.”
LIFE and its partners on the ground, against all odds
In the midst of this unprecedented crisis, LIFE is still distributing meals alongside local partners such as Al-Amal. So far, more than 62,500 people in Gaza have received meals thanks to this work, despite supply problems and the lack of security. “There weren't enough portions to feed everyone. So yesterday I saw children crying with hunger,” Mohammed says, visibly moved.
A call for international solidarity
In the face of this emergency, LIFE is calling on everyone to act and bring a little comfort to those who need it most. Every gesture counts. Every donation changes a life.
