Board members are elected by the General Assembly for a 5-year term. The Executive Committee of officers (the Bureau) is elected for 3 years. The Board of Directors meets at least twice a year.

Every 15 days, the Chair leads the COMEX, made up of 2 members of the Bureau and the Executive Director. They meet to handle all matters relating to the day-to-day running of the Association, within the powers delegated to them by the Board of Directors and the Bureau.
