Our mission
LIFE began with a dream: to leave a positive, lasting mark on this earth. Today, a whole team works to make the world a place of peace and social progress.
LIFE is an international aid NGO. Its mission is to support vulnerable communities and help them become self-reliant, providing humanitarian aid and lasting support for a better future. Its agile, innovative approach and its expertise, combined with that of its partners and local communities, allow it to serve every individual.

our story
2009
It all began with 3 friends...
In August 2009, the registration papers were filed and approved: LIFE was born. Around ten volunteers soon came to lend a hand
2010
First aid efforts
LIFE supports people in need in the Île-de-France region with monthly food parcel distributions
2011
Project 99 is born
After a trip to Cameroon, the founders launched Project 99 to bring water and education to 33 villages, with an original idea: 1 project = 1 donor
2012
Projects get under way
LIFE got to work building the 99 projects funded by 99 donors, taking some donors into the field to watch their project rise from the ground
2013
The 2nd Project 99 is launched!
All 33 villages were now equipped, but LIFE decided not to stop there, extending the project to 5 new countries in sub-Saharan Africa.
2014
First food aid campaign
Faced with the deep hardship of the communities it visited, LIFE ran its first €1 = 1 Meal campaign during Ramadan. LIFE became more professional, and paid staff joined the team
2016
An NGO for everyone
LIFE decided to become a fully fledged NGO, helping the most deprived whatever their background or faith. Cultural and school projects were wound down to focus on water and sanitation
2017
The environment: a new priority
Having focused on water projects and emergency aid, LIFE began developing environmental projects by planting trees in Asia
2018
Influencers join in
The €1 = 1 Meal campaign won over influencers and public figures such as Mokobe, Samia Orosemane and the BodyTime, who chose to take part in parcel distributions in the field
2019
100,000 supporters
LIFE could now count on the support of 100,000 donors in France and abroad. It was also when LIFE's founder, after 10 years of tireless work, handed over to a loyal supporter from the very start: Rabah Bounaira
2020
Our Dakar office opens
A regional office opened in Senegal to manage projects in our African countries of operation from closer at hand
2022
Institutional growth
LIFE built closer ties with institutions and NGO networks, becoming a member of pS-Eau, l'Effet Papillon, FONGIM...
