YOU SAVE LIVES IN JUST A FEW CLICKS

Funding a well and providing unlimited access to clean drinking water prevents waterborne diseases (cholera, typhoid, diarrhoea...) that kill thousands of people every day ☠️.

+ 1000

That's how many children under 5 die every day worldwide from diseases linked to unsafe water (sources: UNICEF, WHO).

Funding a well with LIFE helps directly to save lives, especially children's lives 🫶.

Life cycle of a borehole

It all starts with finding a reliable groundwater source, followed by drilling, between 30 and 50 metres deep (sometimes more!). The water is then tested and filtered if needed.

Finally, the borehole is fitted out to meet local needs, ensuring lasting access to good-quality water 💦✨

Wells built to last

Our wells aren't just a hole in the ground ❌

They are structures built to last, drilled deep, with water safety guaranteed over the long term, fitted with quality materials and overseen by a Management Committee so they last for many years 🗓️.

Water Management Committee

The Water Management Committee 💧 is set up with the local community to ensure your well stands the test of time. The committee is trained to maintain the well and its borehole. If it breaks down, the local community can club together to pay for repairs. If needed, it can call on our local partner or LIFE directly 🤝.

Help for the whole community

Why fund a €300 well for a single family when for €850 you can help dozens of families (up to 500 people) 🤔?

LIFE's mission is to build community wells that give an entire village safe, lasting access, close to home, to water whose safety is guaranteed ✅.

I give a well

Quality equipment

Building a well that lasts requires top-quality equipment 🚰.

Depending on the project (number of people reached, type of construction, whether there's electricity), we install stainless-steel hand pumps or electric pumps, with or without tanks (from 1000L to 10,000L), powered by solar energy ☀️.

Any questions about how your project will be carried out?

Frequently asked questions

Why choose LIFE as your humanitarian charity to build a well?

With over 15 years of humanitarian expertise and hundreds of wells and boreholes across Africa and Asia, LIFE is now a benchmark for clean water access projects.

Unlike low-cost family wells, our community boreholes serve 100 to 10,000 people and are built to last:

- 💧 Truly safe drinking water, thanks to systematic bacteriological and physico-chemical testing🛠️ Durable premium materials
- 🧪 A rigorous process for siting, drilling, filtration and follow-up🤝 Involvement of local communities: management committees, training, upkeep
- 🔁 Guaranteed lasting impact: every project is designed for self-sufficiency and longevityWe make quality, traceability and transparency our priorities.

Every donation is tracked, every well documented, every life transformed.By choosing LIFE, you give health, education, dignity and self-sufficiency to thousands of people. And for our Muslim donors, it is also a Sadaqa Jariya with real, lasting impact, generation after generation 🫶.

In which country will LIFE build the well?

Your well project will be allocated to a developing country in South-East Asia or sub-Saharan Africa (Bangladesh, Mali, Niger, etc.) according to local water needs 💧.

As soon as we receive your donation, our teams will carry out an on-the-ground assessment and your well will be allocated to an area in need.

💌 You will then receive an email with the name of the country, along with all the information about following your project 🫶.

How will I be kept updated on my water project?

Our team dedicated to following your project will keep you informed at every stage (from receipt of your donation to sending your photos / videos at the end of the project) by email 💌 and phone call ☎️.

Of course, you can contact us at any time by
phone on 01 84 21 20 10,
by booking an appointment via 👉this link👈,
through our chat or via our

How can I be sure my project with LIFE has been completed?

Just as at each stage of your humanitarian project following your donation to build a well, you will also be notified when the borehole is inaugurated 🚰.

On top of that, you will receive a project booklet containing:

📸 the project photos and videos,
🏷️ the technical details of the well (personalised plaque in your name, GPS coordinates, depth, name of the locality, number of people your generosity has helped, etc.)

A keepsake of your good deed for life! 🫶

How do you choose the people who will benefit from a well?

Our projects are allocated where the need is most urgent ⚠️.

But to ensure their long-term success, we also select communities willing to take an active part in managing and maintaining the well (hence the crucial importance of electing a Water Management Committee).

That is why every LIFE project rests on two essential criteria:

- A genuine need for access to safe drinking water💧
- The commitment of the local community

This model allows us to maximise the impact of every donation, building wells that are useful, used and lasting thanks to ongoing maintenance, helping communities move towards their own self-sufficiency.

How does LIFE ensure the follow-up and sustainability of its wells?

Once the well is built, the follow-up doesn't stop there 👇

We ensure every project lasts through:

- A permanent link between the Water Management Committee (WMC) and our local teams
- Regular WASH audits, to test water quality and stay attentive to communities' needs

That is how we make sure every LIFE well keeps transforming lives, year after year, thanks to your generosity 🧡

Who maintains the equipment once the project is finished?

Each well is entrusted to the local community through a Water Management Committee (or a Management Committee for our hygiene and sanitation projects), set up before and during the start of the project.

Made up of villagers (men and women), this committee is trained in upkeep, maintenance, basic repairs, hygiene and good health practices.

🚨 If a major problem arises, they alert our local partners, who step in.This is how we ensure sustainable, local and self-sufficient management of every well

How can I know how long the well will last?

With 15 years of experience in building wells, LIFE has established rigorous specifications.

The drilling, upkeep, water treatment, training of the Water Management Committee, and the choice of pump and materials all contribute to its longevity ✅.

A borehole can last more than 20 years if well maintained, making it the ideal gift for anyone wishing to give Sadaqa Jariya 🫶.

How long will my well last?

At LIFE, we are committed to sustainable projects, because our mission is to achieve self-sufficiency for the communities we help 🧡.

We therefore guarantee the lifespan of our wells for the first 3 years and do everything we can (from identifying the water source, drilling the borehole, choosing materials and training a Water Management Committee to advising the people we help on maintaining the project, etc.) so that your project can stand the test of time (more than 20 years for a well-maintained borehole 👌).

During this period, LIFE undertakes to restore the project at its own expense should any problem arise. But that's not all! If the slightest issue occurs after this 3-year period, we use the Water Sponsor fund to maintain and restore boreholes. That is why your generosity through a monthly contribution to this fund matters just as much as a donation to build a well.

At LIFE, every donation, however small, achieves great things, saving one life at a time 💙.

Why does a well cost the same whatever the country?

At LIFE, we have chosen a single, fair price for all our wells, whatever the country 🌍. Why?Because access to water should depend on need, not cost.

Construction costs do vary by region (depth, materials, logistics), but our aim is to prioritise the most urgent areas, not the cheapest ❌.

So we have set an average, quality-based price to guarantee durable, effective and fair wells everywhere. For example, if a borehole in an African country needs €2,650 of funding compared with €2,300 in an Asian country, this stops us favouring Asia at the expense of the needs of African communities.

👉 Rest assured: if a project costs less than your donation, the difference is reinvested in our WATER SPONSOR Fund to finance borehole maintenance, as well as all our Hygiene and Sanitation projects, which matter just as much to communities ✅.
