The social network Steemit has written about LIFE in an article on access to water around the world.

From wells and fountains to water towers and sanitation facilities, the article describes our commitment to the fight for access to water around the world through our OASIS programme. It also highlights how closely we work with local partners. Thanks to this collaboration, we have an in-depth understanding of each community's specific needs and can deliver well-suited projects effectively. In this way, we have rolled out thousands of projects across several countries, from Africa to Asia, bringing vital access to clean drinking water to people who would otherwise go without.

The partnerships and trust we build with local communities are essential to making sure projects last over the long term. Water management committees, made up of members of the communities themselves, keep the infrastructure running for years to come and help people take charge of managing their own water resources. By focusing on strengthening local skills and capacity, we are committed to creating lasting change that benefits everyone.

One of the most striking results of our OASIS campaign is the significant rise in school enrolment in the communities we support. By easing the burden of fetching water, LIFE enables children, especially girls, to spend more time in school instead of walking long distances to collect water. Better school attendance has a direct impact on pupils' results and opens up new prospects for the younger generation. It is also a powerful driver of development for these villages as a whole. To go even further, through our School for All programme we distribute school kits, build school canteens and more in many countries.
Our projects are “integrated projects”: we work across several areas at once – water, education, food security and the environment.

Did you know? UNICEF estimates that women and girls, who are tasked with this chore, lose 200 million hours every day.
