A message from the President of LIFE – The best is yet to come
"It is September 2009, in a tiny office in Saint-Denis. A group of volunteers, myself among them, is witnessing the birth of LIFE. We didn't know it yet, but 13 years later this small neighbourhood association would become an international NGO, with nearly 40 staff around the world and the support of more than 180,000 donors. The President of LIFE, and a dream come true...
We didn't just dream it: we made it happen, through our unwavering dedication to this cause. It is a dedication I renew today as the new President of LIFE.
I am aware of the responsibility that comes with this role, and I also feel immense pride in leading an organisation that helps build a better world every single day.
If we want to keep helping those who need it most, we must do more than adapt. Our world is constantly changing, and with that come many new challenges: the climate crisis, food insecurity, lack of access to clean drinking water and more. To overcome these obstacles, we need innovative thinking, creative solutions and cooperation on a greater scale than ever before.
Even greater ambitions
In the new chapter we are about to write together, LIFE wants to put innovation at the heart of all our programmes, so that we stay at the forefront of social change. We already draw on new technologies, particularly in the way we work and in the technical construction of our projects in the field. Our solar Oases are the perfect example. To conclude, I would say that LIFE is like a tree that grew from a seed planted 13 years ago. Over time, that tree has grown taller and stronger. You can be proud, because without your support and your constant commitment to helping it grow, this tree would not be what it is today. As the NGO's new president, I am convinced that with your continued support, we will achieve even more in the years ahead. Thank you.
