"Média Terre" recently put the spotlight on LIFE, highlighting our unwavering commitment to local development.

engagement citoyen humanitaire

The article, entitled "Humanitarian aid: French NGOs bet on local development", explores the many different approaches taken by NGOs in France. As the article points out, LIFE stands out for its multidisciplinary mission and its involvement in cross-cutting programmes. Since 2009, in more than 25 countries, we have been carrying out practical, lasting projects in four areas: access to clean drinking water, food security, education and the environment.

In the article, our Executive Director, Fanny Fernandes, shares LIFE's philosophy with real enthusiasm. She explains how our current projects bring these four areas of work together.

The article also highlights our determination not to take the place of local authorities, but to pass on skills and know-how instead. We are proud of this approach, which aims to strengthen our work with local partners and help the communities we support become self-reliant.

"Média Terre" also highlighted how resilient we have been through political and security upheavals in some of the countries where we work. Unlike some European NGOs, our financial independence and cultural identity allow us to keep working in areas that can be unstable.
