Lebanon: LIFE's President interviewed on Radio Orient

On 4 May 2026, LIFE President Tarek El Kahodi was a guest on Radio Orient's « Grand Angle » programme. Speaking to Marc-Aurèle Barez, he painted an alarming picture of the situation in Lebanon, where ongoing instability and a huge influx of refugees have plunged the country into unprecedented hardship.
A country at breaking point
For several years, Lebanon has been facing crisis upon crisis: economic, political and social. With more than a million people internally displaced, alongside long-established Syrian and Palestinian refugee communities, basic infrastructure is stretched to the limit.
« The situation is deeply worrying », Tarek El Kahodi stressed during the interview. He pointed out that, relative to its population, Lebanon still hosts more refugees than any other country in the world, a generosity that weighs heavily on local resources at a time of widespread hardship.
LIFE's work in Lebanon

In response to the emergency, LIFE's teams are working every day to bring practical, direct help to the most vulnerable people. Our work includes distributing bedding kits, ready-to-eat food kits, bags of bread, containers of drinking water and hot family meals, and setting up several reception centres. We also provide psychological support to hundreds of children, who are the first victims, to bring them a little joy and comfort. All of this is carried out in close partnership with local organisations on the ground, and made possible by the generosity and solidarity of our Lifechangers.
A call for international action
The aid provided by NGOs still falls short of the scale of need, which is now long-term. Tarek El Kahodi is therefore calling on the international community to act urgently in support of the Lebanese people.
