LIFE in the JSL newspaper

On several occasions, the Journal Saône et Loire (JSL) has chosen to feature our NGO in its pages, a testament to our ongoing commitment to vital humanitarian work. These articles shine a light on the considerable efforts made to bring emergency aid to communities hit by natural disasters, and also showcase positive initiatives.
Emergency response in Morocco
In the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that struck Morocco during the night of Friday 8 to Saturday 9 September 2023, the international community rallied to help the people affected. Amid this humanitarian crisis, our NGO, led by Fanny Fernandes and chaired by Tarek El Kahodi, quickly caught the attention of the local paper JSL, which ran an article on our work in Morocco.
The article in the Journal Saône et Loire highlights our team's considerable efforts to organise an effective, rapid response to the crisis in under 24 hours.

The JSL also highlighted the construction of a school and an ambitious project to build around ten more, so that children could get back to the classroom.
One year after the Morocco earthquake
The JSL highlighted LIFE's reconstruction work in an article entitled "Un an après le séisme au Maroc, Fanny Fernandes raconte la reconstruction" (One year after the Morocco earthquake, Fanny Fernandes describes the rebuilding). In this interview, our executive director looked back on the work carried out, including building and renovating 17 schools, distributing food parcels and school supplies, and providing equipped mobile homes to rehouse families. Fanny Fernandes also stressed LIFE's commitment to developing empowerment projects that help people find work again and regain their self-sufficiency. These initiatives reflect the NGO's ongoing commitment in the region to help rebuild after this tragedy.

The JSL highlights water access initiatives
In a quite different article, the JSL featured the collaboration between our executive director, Fanny Fernandes, and an old acquaintance from her home region. They came together on a joint mission through their respective organisations in Niger, with plans to strengthen the partnership by working on a sanitation project in schools. This collaboration shows the power of solidarity and commitment to make a real difference in the world.
