GPS tracking of donations is changing the way NGOs (non-governmental organisations) engage with their Lifechangers. It lets you follow where a donation is in real time, from the moment it is collected to the moment it reaches the people it is meant for.

Why does transparency matter for NGOs?

Today, transparency is essential for non-governmental organisations. More and more of you, our Lifechangers, want to know how your generosity is changing lives. When you give to LIFE, you trust us with your hopes for a better world. That responsibility commits us to complete transparency, which takes practical shape through:

• Annual reports setting out its activities, its projects and the results achieved
• Transparency that allows actions and the distribution of donations to be seen first-hand, with volunteers, Lifechangers and ambassadors present on its missions
• Open communication: LIFE can be reached by phone and is very active on social media.
• Traceable funds, in particular through GPS tracking, so you can follow your donation remotely and in real time

GPS trackers strengthen this transparency: they let Lifechangers follow their donation right up to the moment it is handed out to people in need. When you receive photos and first-hand accounts from the communities you have helped, your donation becomes an emotional bond between Lifechangers and the people who receive it. This is especially true during major campaigns such as Eid al-Adha, when sharing and solidarity take on their full meaning.

Eid al-Adha and real-time GPS tracking

Eid al-Adha is a celebration of sharing and generosity, values that lie at the heart of LIFE's humanitarian work. For Lifechangers who wish to give an Eid al-Adha donation, LIFE has developed a GPS tracking system.

What is Eid al-Adha?

Eid al-Adha is one of the most important festivals for Muslims. It commemorates the submission of the Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to God, when he was ready to sacrifice his son, Ismail (Ishmael), at God's command. At the last moment, God replaced the child with a sheep (or a ram), rewarding Ibrahim's faith. So every year, Muslims carry out the ritual sacrifice of an animal (often a sheep).

Every year, Eid al-Adha is a powerful moment of solidarity. LIFE takes part in this tradition by inviting Lifechangers to contribute to sacrifices that are then distributed to families. For the 2025 campaign, two options are available to support distributions in different regions of the world where LIFE works: €99 for a sheep sacrifice and €649 for a cattle sacrifice. 🤝

A GPS tracker to follow donations

As soon as a Lifechanger gives a donation for a sacrifice, they receive GPS tracking of their sacrifice throughout the 3 days of Eid, so they can see the donation's whole journey in real time. Remote tracking takes the form of an interactive map showing the donation's location in real time. The Lifechanger can follow each stage of the process: selecting and buying the animal, preparation and distribution to families. The map shows the exact location of the donation along with the different stages (donation, preparation, distribution).

Through this innovation, LIFE strengthens the trust it shares with its Lifechangers by giving them full visibility over how their precious donations are used. Alongside real-time GPS tracking, Lifechangers receive photos of the distributions and messages from the families. 📷

What are the benefits for Lifechangers and local communities?

GPS tracking of donations at LIFE changes the relationship between Lifechangers and the people they help. This transparency creates a direct link between your generosity and the difference your act of solidarity makes on the ground. 🌍

Greater visibility for Lifechangers

With the GPS tracker introduced by LIFE, you get complete transparency over your donation's journey. Each Lifechanger is sent a personal link, so they can follow their contribution online in real time all the way to its final destination, and the photos they receive are tangible proof that the funds are being used as they wished. This traceability benefits both the Lifechanger and LIFE, because it builds a sense of trust that enables LIFE to carry out its missions and keep changing lives. ✨

What about the communities LIFE supports?

The GPS tracker allows real-time online tracking to make sure resources (water, food, equipment) reach local communities, which guarantees they are used properly. Thanks to distributions that are tracked remotely and documented (photos, social media), every Lifechanger can be sure that the communities supported really do benefit from access to clean drinking water, school facilities and food (including during festivals such as Eid al-Adha), helping them become more independent in the long term.

To ensure Eid al-Adha sacrifices pose no health risk to local families, LIFE makes sure the animals chosen from local farmers are healthy. Slaughter takes place in clean premises, under conditions overseen by professionals. This means the meat can be distributed safely, so communities can celebrate Eid al-Adha in keeping with Muslim traditions and in good health. 🙏
