Frequently asked questions
Can't find your answer here? Call us on 01 84 21 20 10.
Why choose LIFE to build a well?
More than 15 years of expertise and hundreds of boreholes in Africa and Asia. Unlike low-cost family wells, our community boreholes serve 100 to 10,000 people and are built to last: systematic bacteriological and physico-chemical testing, premium materials, local management committees, and guaranteed lasting impact.
In which country will the well be built?
Your project will be allocated to a developing country in South-East Asia or sub-Saharan Africa (Bangladesh, Mali, Niger...) according to local water needs. As soon as we receive your donation, our teams carry out a field assessment and you'll receive the country and all tracking information by email.
How will I be kept updated on my project?
Our dedicated team keeps you informed at every stage, from receipt of your donation to the photos and videos at the end of the project, by email and phone. You can also contact us at any time on 01 84 21 20 10.
How can I be sure my project has been completed?
You're notified when the borehole is inaugurated and receive a project booklet: photos and videos, technical specifications, a personalised plaque in your name, GPS coordinates, depth, location and the number of people helped.
Who maintains the well once the project is finished?
Each well is entrusted to the local community through a Water Management Committee, trained in upkeep, basic repairs and good hygiene practices. If a major problem arises, our local partners step in.
How long will my well last?
We guarantee our wells for the first 3 years, and a well-maintained borehole can last more than 20 years. Beyond that, the Water Sponsor fund covers borehole maintenance and rehabilitation.
Why does a borehole cost the same whatever the country?
We chose a single, fair price so we can prioritise the most urgent areas, not the cheapest. If a project costs less than your donation, the difference is reinvested in the Water Sponsor fund for borehole maintenance.
What payment methods are available?
All payments are secure: bank card, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay or bank transfer. Every donation qualifies for French tax relief of 66% of the amount given.
