SUDAN EMERGENCY
UPDATE ON THE HUMANITARIAN SITUATION
Nearly 13 million people have been forced to flee, to try to escape the executions and physical and sexual violence.
The collapse of healthcare, the famine and the lack of access to drinking water makes the situation catastrophic: nearly 5 million children and breastfeeding mothers are acutely malnourished, the cholera outbreaks are spreading among refugees.

Massacres to El Fasher
Since October 23, 2025, the city ofEl Fasher located in the North Darfur, is facing a major offensive from the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) led by Mohamed Hamdane Dogolo (aka Hemedti) against the Sudanese Army led by General Fattah Al-Burhane.
More than 2,000 civilians have been executed in the days following the attack according to local humanitarian authorities and the UN.
In the El Fasher maternity hospital, more than 460 patients and relatives have been killed by the RSF.
“piles of bodies” litter the city streets while looting, abductions, attacks and population displacements continue.
Explanation of the conflict
The conflict pits the RSF and the Sudanese Army.
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) : this paramilitary militia, originating in Darfur, is under the control of Mohamed Hamdane Dogolo (Hemedti).
The Sudanese army is under the control of General Fattah Al-Burhane, in power since the 2021 coup.
Formerly allies, the struggle for political power led to a rift between Mohamed Hamdane Dogolo and Fattah Al-Burhane, resulting in this bloody war.
Today, both armed forces are involved in numerous crimes, even though the RSF (comprising over 100,000 men) is widely condemned.
Some violence unprecedented
Besides the countless executions of civilians, many violence are currently used by the RSF on the Saudi population.
The United Nations and Amnesty International notably denounce the systematic use of sexual violence against women and children by the RSF.
Instances of Mass rapes notably occur during raids on displacement camps,
Some Women and children, are abducted to suffer prolonged violence and be exploited as sex slaves.
