Ouest France talks about LIFE which continues to act in Gaza

On May 15, 2025, the Journal Ouest-France published a moving testimony by Mohammed Khalil (NO FOLLOW), who is responsible for humanitarian projects in the Gaza Strip, where he coordinates the distribution of hot meals with LIFE. In a context of protracted war, impending famine and total instability, LIFE field teams remain mobilized to help those who need it most.

A catastrophic humanitarian situation

For over a year and a half, the Gaza Strip has been living with the rhythm of bombardments, massive destruction and shortages of everything. More than 470,000 people are currently living in camps for displaced persons in Rafah, in the south of the country. United Nations and NGO reports agree: famine is imminent.

Mohammed Khalil evokes a “permanent fear”: “His house is in ruins, his family lives crammed into a school that has been transformed into a reception center. The smallest noise is scary, every night is an ordeal.”

LIFE and its partners in the field, despite everything

At the heart of this unprecedented crisis, LIFE continues to distribute meals, (put here the link to the BBC AFRICA No. 1 article as soon as it is online) with its local partners such as Al-Amal. To date, more than 62,500 Gazans have received meals as a result of this action, despite supply difficulties and insecurity. “There were not enough portions to make everyone eat. So yesterday, I saw children crying from hunger,” Mohammed confides with emotion.
