Eid Al Adha and GPS tracking in real time

Eid Al Adha is a holiday that symbolizes sharing and generosity, values that LIFE places at the heart of its humanitarian action. To allow Lifechangers who want participate in a donation for Eid Al Adha, LIFE has developed a GPS tracker system.

What is Eid Al Adha?

Eid AL Adha is one of the most important holidays for Muslims. It commemorates the submission of the Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to God, ready to sacrifice his son, Ishmael (Ismail), by divine order. At the last moment, God replaces the child with a sheep (or a ram), thus rewarding Ibrahim's faith. Every year, Muslims therefore perform the ritual sacrifice of an animal (often a sheep).

Each year, Eid Al Adha is a strong moment of solidarity. LIFE is committed to this tradition by offering Lifechangers the opportunity to contribute to sacrifices that will be distributed to families. For the 2025 campaign, two offers are available to support distributions in different regions of the world where LIFE operates: €99 for a sacrificed sheep and €649 for sacrificing an ox. 🤝

A GPS tracker to track donations

As soon as a Lifechanger donates for a sacrifice, they receive GPS tracking of their sacrifice during the 3 days of Eid, in order to visualize the complete journey of the donation in real time. Remote monitoring takes the form of an interactive map showing the location of the donation in real time. The Lifechanger can thus follow the various stages of the process: selection, purchase of the animal, preparation and distribution to families. The map shows the exact location of the donation as well as the various stages (donation, preparation, distribution).

Thanks to this innovation, LIFE strengthens its relationship of trust with its Lifechangers by giving them total visibility on the use of their precious donations. In addition to real-time GPS tracking, Lifechangers receive photos of the distributions and testimonies from families. 📷

Indeed, a personalized link being sent to each Lifechanger, they can follow in real time on the web the progress of their contribution to their final destination, and the photos sent to them are tangible proof that the funds are being used in accordance with their wishes. This traceability is beneficial for both the Lifechanger and for LIFE, as it creates a feeling of trust that allows the NGO LIFE to carry out its missions to continue to change lives. ✨

What about the communities supported by LIFE

The GPS tracker allows real-time monitoring on the web, in order to ensure that resources (water, food, equipment) reach local communities, which guarantees the proper use of resources. Through remote and documented distribution (photos, social networks), each Lifechanger ensures that the communities supported benefit from access to drinking water, school infrastructure and food (including during holidays such as Eid Al Adha), which helps them gain autonomy in the long term.

To ensure that the sacrifices of Eid Al Adha do not represent any risk to the health of local families, LIFE ensures that the animals selected from local farmers are healthy. Slaughter takes place in clean places and under conditions controlled by professionals. Thus, meat can be distributed safely, so that communities can celebrate Eid Al Adha in accordance with Muslim traditions and in good health. 🙏
