Ecological pact talks about LIFE ONG

“LIFE: concrete actions for a greener future”. Pact Ecological highlights in this item our environmental actions component with our SAPOUSSE program.

Launched in 2017, HIS SHOOT reflects the desire to restore degraded ecosystems while creating economic opportunities for local communities. In just five years, thanks to him, we already have planted more than 457,000 trees around the world, including more than 13,000 in Benin, 120,000 in Indonesia, and 320,000 in Madagascar, thus absorbing more than 11,450 tons of CO2. These figures illustrate the tangible impact of our NGO in the fight against climate change.

SAPOUSSE's approach is distinguished by its sustainable, inclusive and resolutely human nature. We don't just plant trees : we take care to select species that are perfectly adapted to local specificities, thus guaranteeing resilient forests that thrive in the long term. Furthermore, our projects integrate a social and economic dimension. By motivating income-generating activities and by mobilizing local communities, SAPOUSSE is raising awareness of the importance of maintaining restored ecosystems. Each tree planted becomes a symbol of hope, embodying the commitment of communities to a sustainable future. This model creates a virtuous circle, where the preservation of resources improves the quality of life and strengthens resilience in the face of environmental challenges, while supporting biodiversity and the fight against poverty.

Ecological pact also highlights our desire to develop agroforestry, a practice that combines agriculture and reforestation. Not only is the land restored, but its productivity is also increased, allowing communities to benefit from it in many ways. Trees improve soil fertility, reduce erosion, and provide beneficial shade for crops. In addition, by creating habitats for wildlife, this method promotes rich and varied biodiversity, while ensuring additional income through forest products such as fruits, nuts and wood. By combining ecology and economy, SAPOUSSE demonstrates that conserving nature can go hand in hand with community development.

A striking example of this approach can be seen in Indonesia, On the island of Sumatra, where we contributed to restoring mangrove ecosystems by planting 50,000 trees, in collaboration with local partners. These initiatives not only restore biodiversity; they also encourage the creation of micro-enterprises that transform mangrove resources into food and craft products, thus offering shared and sustainable prosperity.

In addition, our NGO LIFE invests in the training and awareness-raising of local communities. We strive to strengthen their skills in the sustainable management of natural resources. These initiatives allow people to become the guardians of their environment, by making informed decisions to preserve it and by building a future where humans and nature coexist in harmony.

Thanks to SAPOUSSE, our NGO proves that reforestation is much more than a simple environmental intervention, it is a real driver of positive transformation. By uniting the restoration of ecosystems and the improvement of the living conditions of local communities, we show that building a sustainable future, where humanity and nature thrive together, is not only possible, but already underway.
