LIFE ONG and other NGOs call for a ceasefire in Gaza

An article published by the media L'Humanité, highlights the call of several humanitarian organizations operating on the ground in Palestine for a ceasefire in Gaza. We are proud to be among the signatories, alongside SUD coordination and other renowned humanitarian actors.

Every day the situation in Palestine continues to deteriorate. The consequences for civilian populations are devastating. The numbers are alarming. Since the Hamas attack on 7 October last year, more than 10,000 Palestinians, including more than 4,000 children, have lost their lives under the Israeli response. With over 23,000 injured, hospitals are overwhelmed. They face a critical shortage of medicines and fuel, which are essential for the proper functioning of vital medical equipment.

We strongly condemn all attacks against civilian populations, wherever they are. We recall that the protection of humanitarian and health personnel, as well as civilian populations, is an obligation under international humanitarian law for all parties to the conflict.

Faced with this catastrophic humanitarian situation, LIFE ONG and the other signatory organizations call on all parties to the conflict to protect civilian populations, to respect international humanitarian law and to ensure humanitarian access without delay. The ceasefire in Gaza is a priority.
