ArabNews talks about LIFE ONG

An article byArab News highlights the extraordinary career of Mehdi Debbrah, a young Parisian who embarked on a march from Paris to Algiers in tribute to his late father.

The captivating story details his journey through 9 countries, with the ultimate objective of reaching Algiers. What makes this adventure even more extraordinary is the generosity of Mehdi, who decided to raise funds for our NGO LIFE.

We are particularly touched by his initiative. Mehdi explains in the article that he wants to finance the construction of a water tower in a disadvantaged country; this structure will not only allow access to water, but will also open doors to agriculture and livestock.

Today we are delighted to see that Mehdi's adventure has already borne fruit:

  • July 2022: A 50-meter-deep water tower borehole was built in Togo to the delight of the villagers.
  • September 2022: A 60-meter-deep water tower borehole was built this time in Niger.
  • August 2022: In Tunisia, food packages were offered to 200 families in need in the cities of Menez el Bab and Testour in the Beja region.
  • October 2022: Food packages were offered in Algeria to 244 families of widows and orphans in several remote municipalities in the wilaya of M'sila.
  • November 2022: Bicycles were donated to 100 middle school girls aged 12 to 14 living in rural Bangladesh. Young girls living in the villages of Sadar and Birol near the city of Dinajpur traveled about 5 km per day to get to school in a region where girls often drop out of school at a very young age because of the distance from schools. In addition to alleviating the difficulty of their daily trips, these bikes offered these young girls real prospects for the future thanks to access to education.
  • December 2022: In Lebanon, 150 Syrian refugee families were offered fuel cans to warm up in their tents and face the severe cold in northern Lebanon, in the Akkar region. Thanks to your generosity, 600 days of heating were offered!
  • December 2022: Thanks to your support, 150 warm clothing kits (fleece jackets, gloves, hats, lined socks) were offered in France, more precisely at Porte de la Chapelle, Porte d'Aubervillier and Gare du Nord in Paris.
  • January 2023: A human-powered borehole was built in Indonesia in the Neke village in Oetbolan Hamlet where 476 people live and had access to only one source of drinking water. The villagers had to travel more than an hour to look for water elsewhere than the available source was not enough for all.
  • February 2023: Food packages were offered in Morocco to 200 families in need in the villages of Ahl Maati, Tiglit and Boutazart in the Guelmim region.
  • May 2023: In Indonesia, in the province of Aceh located on the northern tip of the Island of Sumatra, 3000 mangroves were planted by 5 families in a situation of great vulnerability to contribute to the reconstruction of the Indonesian mangrove, i.e. 12,000 square meters!

Mehdi shared his journey on social media, captivating over 1 million followers on TikTok and 530,000 on Instagram. Her money pot, was an impressive success.

Thanks to Mehdi for this extraordinary adventure, to all of you for your support and to Arab News for bringing our cause to light.

Together, let's continue to make a positive difference in the world!
