Educavox talks about LIFE ONG
Access to water is much more than just a biological necessity; it is an essential factor in the sustainable and economic development of a country. Unfortunately, this vital resource is distributed unevenly across the world. And developing nations are particularly affected.
Projections indicate a significant increase in water demand in the coming decades, mainly due to increasing urbanization and global population growth. If action is not taken, billions of people could find themselves without access to clean water by 2030.
To respond to this emergency, close collaboration between governments and NGOs is needed.
In his article” How access to water has a lasting impact on the sustainable and economic development of a country ”, Educavox cites the action of our NGO LIFE to develop access to drinking water in the world. Through our OASIS campaign, we are building wells, water towers and fountains in numerous communities in Africa and Asia, thereby helping to improve the health, education and environment of local populations.
But despite our efforts and those of many other actors, mistrust in charities and insufficient funding remain major obstacles. Governments in developed countries are also called upon to contribute more to solving water scarcity in some regions, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal No. 6.
Recognizing water as an essential vector of economic development and intensifying investments so that everyone has access to it are imperatives to support the sustainable development of nations. In addition to improving public health and education, equitable access to water could reduce conflicts over its scarcity, which are exacerbated by climate change.
Placing water at the top of political agendas and mobilizing sufficient resources are major challenges of our time to ensure a sustainable future for all.
